Video | Alaa Abd El Fattah: There’s no solution—we need to talk

In an interview with Mada Masr (1 of 2), Alaa Abd El Fattah describes some of his opinions as “impressions of an inmate”. He discusses the current situation in Sudan, as well as Egyptian commentary on it and Egyptian advice to Sudanese revolutionaries, and he contemplates the use of “resistance” as a term. Alaa analyzes the outcomes of Egypt’s 2011 popular mobilization, suggesting there’s a lack of imagination rather than action, although he also grants that space for action is currently extremely limited in Egypt.
