Sinai roundup: 4 people killed by armed militants in Rafah, 6 workers die in Arish factory accident

Armed men killed four people in a barber shop owned by a Palestinian national in the center of Rafah city on Tuesday, an eyewitness told Mada Masr.

The militants targeted Safa neighborhood in Rafah city center, near the border of North Sinai, before opening fire on the shop with automatic weapons.

As of publishing, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Tuesday morning, the body of an 18-year-old man who was kidnapped a week ago was found in the south of Rafah city after he was decapitated by Province of Sinai militants for allegedly collaborating with security forces, as shown in photos released by the Islamic State-affiliated group online.

Also on Tuesday, six workers at the military-owned Arish Cement Company died, and six others were injured, after a large block of steel fell on them as they gathered around one of the production lines, one of the workers reported. Many young men come to work at the factory from outside the area.
