It’s another busy month for Cairo’s culture scene. Here are three potentially exciting events happening this week, as recommended by Mada’s culture desk.
We haven’t yet seen musician Ahmed Saleh from Telepoetic and Sufi poet Ahmed Miniawy perform together, but if you’re into poetry and avant garde electronic music then this just might be the thing for you. Miniawy’s powerful, trance-inducing lyrics are usually guaranteed to provide a unique experience. Billed as Arabic trip-hop.

The Contemporary Image Collective’s second pub quiz follows its launch a couple of months ago — a fun, free event, which was well-attended, engaging and had books as prizes. In Arabic and English, CIC’s moderators run the teams, of between two and five participants, through an evening of challenging questions on art, media, photography, cinema and general knowledge. No registration necessary, but punctuality is essential.
